More of my story... |
![]() I have gained a lot of weight in my adult life--about 55-60 lbs since high school! Granted, most people thought I was too skinny in high school, but at my heaviest, I was on the verge of obesity. I looked in the mirror and thought that other people looking at me couldn't possibly see that fat person when they looked at me. I blamed it on the mirrors. They were tilted wrong or cheaply made, I reasoned.
Then, after my dad, brother, and sister died of preventable diseases (heart disease, cancer, and cancer, respectively), I started a new lifestyle. I cut out almost all grains except my morning oatmeal, and ate mostly vegetarian meals--organic of course! (By the way, by cutting out grains, dairy, and meat, my meals were almost always correctly combined and I didn't even know what that meant back then.) I also started a 10 minute morning workout routine, in addition to walking and other light exercise. Because of my new lifestyle, I lost 30 lbs in 30 weeks. Then, for some crazy reason, I started eating grains, dairy, and meat regularly again. I stuck to organic food and my morning workouts though. My digestion (stomach pain, bloating, belching, and misery) that I hadn't experienced during my weight loss period resumed. (I didn't realize it then but that was partly because by resuming a diet regularly including meat, dairy, and grains, I started once again to mis-combine my meals.) I also gained back 10-12 lbs! Then I learned about food sensitivities and stopped eating gluten and most dairy, which helped with the digestion, but not always. I couldn't lose those 10-12 lbs either. FINALLY and luckily, I came across the most wonderful program at this website that taught me how to correctly combine my food for nutrient absorption and pain free digestion. I feel great! Not only have I healed my digestive pain and bloating, but my knees don't crack or hurt like they used to, I have a lot more energy, my skin is clearer and brighter, my allergies are almost non-existent, AND I have re-lost those 10-12 lbs! Actually, I've lost 20 lbs since the fall of 2012 (a total of 40 lbs since 2007), and still going! I am a calmer, much happier person too. I believe addressing food sensitivities and correctly combining real foods to eat are key components to optimal health and healthy weight. I hope it inspires you in some way to take action and heal your own digestion and pain! |
